Hot day at the track...

Beth was up and at church by 8am. I took a shower and got dressed by the time she got home. We had breakfast and then headed to the track around 10am. We thought Payton would be racing around 11am, but we were wrong. The decided to do away with the time limit and just let them race laps. Payton's race started around noon. He was the 3rd kid out on the track. He was trying to catch up to the number 2 car and did not see it had stopped in the track and smashed right into the back end. He was OK except the bucket on his seat belt smashed right into his chest. He was alright and the race started. The Jr. novice do well except when their is a stop and they have to line up in a certain order. That is something they will work on as they race more, but it takes time to stop them all and then restart the race. Payton was pushed into the wall with 2 laps left and finished the race in second place. The top 4 moved on to the next race. After the race, they found he had messed up the right tire area of his car. So the race was on the get the car fixed in time for the next race. They made it in time and he was started 6th for this race. He seemed a little unsure of himself in this race and was holding his own until he caused a crash and had to start at the back of the pack. he started crying that he did not want to lose his position. So they started the race and he was able to finish in 5 places. He was considered the X car for the last race meaning that if one of the other cars can't make the race, he will get to race. If all the cars are ready, he will not be able to race. We left the track around 3:30pm. The spider bite I got yesterday was swollen, red, and very icky and the heat and sweat made it worse. So after we got home, I put some ice on  and that helped a little. We had to go to the store and then I made dinner. We had beef and noodles in gravy. We found out the Jr. novice finally race will be tomorrow with all the other finals. They wanted the little guys to get the same attention as the other. So he will be ready to go and will have to see if he can race. Kyle is also marching in the Pottstown Memorial Day parade tomorrow morning.  We are also having a pool party at 2pm and a cookout around 4:30pm. So tomorrow will be another busy day.
