Moved to Rehab...

I got up at 8am this morning and took a shower. I left to go see Beth a little before 9am. They had removed the iv and the catheter. She was dressed and looked alot better today. She had just had her pain pill and they were waiting for it to kick in before going to therapy. So I was able to go with her and see how well she was doing. When we went into the therapy room, it was a 3 ring organized circus. People were lined up in the wheel chairs all around the room. There were about 10 people helping in one way or another. The hardest part for Beth right now is standing from a sitting position. But once she is up, she is walking pretty well for 2 days out of surgery. Her legs did not look as swollen as they did yesterday. The ice seems to be working well. We went back to her room and she was tired. Lunch was delivered and after she ate, it was time to use the bathroom. The nurses came to help her up and into the bathroom. I helped her with the wiping part and pulling ther pants up. We got her bac to the chair and she was ready for nap. They said she should be moved between 3 and 4. I lfet to come home and it was raining and I wanted to get home before rush hour. She called around 6pm to say she had gotten moved and settled in. Dawn had called and asked if I could watch Rylee tomorrow. She had a 102 degree temperature today. It would be no problem as I am not going to see Beth until the evening.

Doing better...

It was kinda strange sleeping by myself last night, so needless to say I did not sleep well. I spoke to Beth this morning and she was not doing well. She did not sleep much last night, the pain in her knee was throbbing, and everything just sucked. Oh boy. I had some errands to do, so I quickly got them done and went down to see her. They had her walking alot during physical therapy. She was still very tired and had sleep off and on most of the day. We had dinner together and talked about the days events. After dinner, I gave her a sponge bath, as she missed hers this morning. I that in it's self was good for her. She felt so much better afterwards. I left around 6:30pm and came home. Beth was headed to bed and I am hoping she gets alot of sleep. They will determine tomorrow if Beth will be transferred to the rehab center. I am going down early tomorrow for a visit and to see if they know anything about the transfer.

Surgery Day..

We got up around 4am this morning and took showers. We got to the hospital around 6am and Beth went in the holding area. They took blood and got her ready to go. I was able to go back and set with her around 7:45am. They came to take her to the pre op area around 8:30am. I went up the the 4th floor waiting room with the other people. The doctor called around noon to let me know she was out of surgery and did well. He said the cartilage was really bad and it was time. She was being moved to recover and would be there for a couple of hours. The recovery nurse called at 1:50pm to say they would be moving her in 10 to 15 minutes. Sure enough, she was moved and in her room around 2pm. She said the pain was around a 2 in recovery, but was now a 4. The spinal block was wearing off and I was hoping the pain would not get any worse. They game her some more pain stuff and she was going to sleep, so I came on home to beat the traffic. Beth called around 7pm and said she had shuffled over to the chair and the pain was a 7. So they gave her some more stuff and she was going to watch the voice and then go to bed. They will have her up at 4am for blood work and breakfast at 7am. Physical therapy will begin some time in the morning and again in the afternoon. I will go back around 4pm to see how she is doing. Surgery

Time draws near...

Beth was up and at church at 8am this morning. I got up shortly afterwards and took a shower. Beth stopped at WAWA and got a paper and breakfast. The rest of the day was spend doing not much of anything. Beth worked on getting all the mail and bills done and packing. I cleaned the living room and playing on the computer. We have to get up at 4am tomorrow to be at the hospital by 6am. I will be posting updates to face book as soon as I know anything. It is going to be a long day tomorrow, but one we knew was coming.

Rylee Time...

We got up at 8am this morning. I took a shower and Beth just got dressed. She left around 8:45am to go get her hair cut. I had some breakfast and Rylee and her parents came by a little after 10am. Beth got home about 2 minutes later. Dawn and Jo left to go see the boys and We went downstairs to play. The first thing Rylee asks is Where is my tunnel and tent? So we set them up and she played in them for awhile. We then came upstairs and played on the bed for awhile. We decide to go to Sears and see if they had any sales since they are closing. I did not see any real bargains. Most of the stuff we were interested in was only 10% off. So we came home and had some lunch. Beth and Rylee went to take a nap, but after 10 minutes I could hear them laughing, so I knew a nap was not in order. Rylee came out to tell me she was up and that Aunt Beth was still sleeping. So Aunt Beth got up with a little help as I had to go to the store. I came home from the store and Rylee and Aunt Beth were on the sofa eating ice cream and watching fireman SAM. So cute. Dawn and Jo got here sometime after 3pm. I fixed dinner of hotdogs and french fries around 5:30pm. Rylee and her parents left around 7pm as Rylee was getting tired. We are now watching the program Too Cute about puppies and kittens.

Jojo for dinner...

We got up around 8:45am this morning. We had breakfast and showers. Today was the first day we could book shore excursion for our Disney cruise. I booked 3 snorkel trips. I had a hair appointment at 12:30pm. Beth went to the pack and ship and sent item to her brother Tom and one for my mom. So mom, be on the look out for a package. On my way home, I had to stop at the store. Tonight was the first Friday of no meat days. Beth wanted to have waffles and ice cream. So I got a couple different kinds of ice cream and whipped cream. Beth went to pick up Jojo from school around 3:30pm. She wanted to spend some time with her before surgery. We had dinner and it was a big hit as you can tell from the photo. We took Jojo home around 7pm and are now watching a little TV. Dawn and Jo are going to see the boys tomorrow and we get to watch Rylee. The other photo today is of 3 of the 100+ vinylmations we have.

Time is drawing near...

We both slept in late this morning. Since it was so close to lunch time, we had a small breakfast. We began working on the vinylmation we have and which ones we want to make as traders. I made brisket panini for lunch and they were really good. Beth said the panini maker was the best thing we have purchased in a long time. We went to see Dr. Bill at 2:45pm. My back and knee are feeling alot better and only a pain every now and then. We came back home and Beth worked on the vinylmation some more. We started watching the program How the States got their shape. It was interesting and informative.

PreOp meds started...

We got up around 9am this morning. We had breakfast and took showers. I started laundry and they called to say my truck was ready for pick-up. So we left around noon to go get it. I had to go to Target and get some tubs and a few other things. Beth had to go to the bank and to CVS. She has 3 different meds she needs to begin taking before Monday. After I returned home, we had a quick lunch. I finished the laundry and Beth worked on getting the stuff by the front door boxed up and put away. We ordered pizza for dinner, since a had a free coupon from the Superbowl.

Back home...

We left Monday morning around 6am and drove straight through and were home around 10:30pm. And of course we get a phone call this morning at 8am for some NRA advertising. Just great. So we got up and Beth went to watch TV and I go ton the computer. We took showers and headed out around 10:30am. We went to Dunkin Donuts since it was Fat Tuesday. We then went to the grocery store and had to stop by Jeff's house to get some paper work and then came home. I made appointment to take my truck in for an inspection tomorrow, paid my registration, logged the grocery amounts spent this month. Beth called Disney to change our studio to a one-bedroom for May and got a confirmation from our travel lady that we are now on the early dining instead of late. I just can't eat that late at night. We then went over and picked up Buster. He was so glad to see us. I made Beth steak for dinner and now getting ready to go drop off my truck.

Packin up...

I was up around 8am and Beth slept until 10am. We had some breakfast and headed for EPCOT around 2pm. We had lunch at the Sunshine season grill. It is well worth a quick service meal. I had the Mongolian beef and rice and Beth had the pork chop with green beans. So very good and filling. We then rode Finding Nemo and Imagination. We then caught the boat to Germany and used all of our snacks on carmels. They make the best there. We then slowly walked to the boats to go to boardwalk. We were having dinner at Kouzzina, which is owned by Cat Cora. She has been on the Food network show and her food is Greek type. I had some Greek lasagna and it was very good. Beth had chicken and rice. We had to catch the bus to Downtown Disney and it was standing room only. Then take our bus back to the resort which for some reason takes 30 minutes. We packed up the first load of stuff to load up the car and hauled it down the elevation to find that did not work. So we had to haul it back past our room and to the next elevator. We are only hoping to make one more load tonight and the rest will go in the morning. We are hoping to be on the road by 6am. We have had a great time, but will not stay here again. We have been spoiled by being able to take the bus, boat, or monorail. Only taking the bus is too long of a trip. Seeing the animals was great, but does not out way the bus transportation.

Arcade Games...

Both of us did not sleep well last night. I finally got out of bed and slept on the sofa, which was really comfortable. We woke up around 8am this morning. We had breakfast in the room and then did nothing until noon. We saw our first ostrich below our balcony today. It was really cool. We called and talked to Rylee and she sang Baa Baa Black Sheep for us and it was so cute. We caught the bus and headed to Downtown Disney. We went to Disney Quest and played Arcade games for 3 hours. We then sat by the lake and had a nice relaxing evening. We went to dinner around 6:30pm at Raging Road which was an Irish pub. I had the ham and Beth had the ribs. it was really good, but too much food for me to eat. We made it back to the room around 8:30pm and are headed to the hot tub. Tomorrow will be out last day here and we are so sad.

Rain at Disney...

We slept until 8am this morning. It was grey and humid out. We had some breakfast and then just chilled until 11am. We then headed to Downtown Disney to do some shopping, so we could ship it to the room. It began to rain and we did have out rain jackets. We had some lunch at the House of Earl. The have very good sandwiches and are busy all the time. We came back to the room around 4pm and rested until 5:30pm. We then took the bus to EPCOT for dinner at the Rose and Crown. It was British food. I had the Sunday roast, mashed potatoes, green beans, Yorkshire pudding, and Cheddar scones. Beth had steak with roasted potatoes. I was so stuffed, I did not even eat dessert. We headed back to the room around 9pm and are ready for bed. It was a rainy day and Beth's knees are killing her, but hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Africian day..

We got up around 7:30am this morning. We showered and caught the bus to Animal Kingdom for breakfast. It was the best breakfast ever. So much to choose from and great flavor. After breakfast, we walked over and caught the Finding Nemo show. We were pretty tired from all the running yesterday, so we came back to the room for a rest. We then went over to Jamba house and had lunch. We both had salads as we were still full from breakfast. We came back to the room and took naps. We then left for dinner at Boma. I had the bourbon spice chicken, coconut rice, white bean hummus, root veggies, and apple crisp with vanilla sauce for dinner. The had a peanut soup, but it was a little to spicy to eat on it own, so I put it on the chicken and it was good. Beth did really well stepping outside the box. She had roasted beef loin, rice, salad with apple vinaigrette, root veggies, and cookie and apple crisp for dessert. Talk about being stuffed. We are now headed to the hot tub for a good soak before bed.

Happy Birthday Beth...

We slept until 8am this morning. We had some breakfast and set out to Magic Kingdom. We saw zebras this morning. Since it was Beth's birthday, she got to do what ever she wanted. So we rode the Haunted Mansion ride 3 times. We rode some many ride and saw alot of show. The park was not a packed as we have seen it. alot of the wait times we 15 minutes or less, but really it was walk up and get on. We rode the Snow White ride and there was no leg room what so ever. We were both in alot of pain when the ride ended. So it took a while to walk off the pain. We did the Buzz Light year ride, which is like an arcade, and I kicked Beth's butt, twice. We had dinner at the Liberty Tree tavern. The food is so good there and they sang Happy Birthday to her. We headed back tot he room around 8pm and it was a great day. Beth had a great birthday which is all that matters. We are have breakfast at Animal Kingdom tomorrow, which should be fun,

Happy Valentine's Day...

We slept until 8am this morning. I made breakfast of egg salad sandwiches and fruit for breakfast. We saw several animals outside 0f our balcony and it was really cool. We left to catch the bus around 10:30am for We were able to ride Toy Story, but all the fast passes were given out. We saw several shows and then had some lunch. We walked around and did some shopping. We had dinner at the Sci-Fi and loved watching the old monster clips. We came back to the room around 7pm and did a load of laundry. After the laundry was done, we went to the hot tub and it felt nice. Tomorrow is Magic Kingdom day and Beth's birthday. So Happy Valentine's day to everyone and especially to my love, Beth.

At Disney....

We got up around 7:30am this morning. We had a load of laundry to do and then finished cleaning. We loaded up the car and headed to Disney around 10:15am. We made good time and pulled in to Kidani Village around 2:20pm. We had already pre-registered, so everything was set and ready to go. Our room was all ready, so we unpacked everything and took a quick rest. We then boarded the bus and headed to EPCOT. We were able to snag a fast pass for Soarin for a return time of 8:15pm. This worked great for us. So we went then headed back to the countries and caught the boat to Germany. We had dinner at one of our favorite places, The Biergarten. We then went to ride Finding Nemo and finally off to ride Soarin. We headed home around 9pm and are so ready for bed. we did see some zebras and Ankole cattle. Hoping to see some more animals tomorrow.

Cold in Flordia...

The wind blew all night long, so I got little sleep. We got up around 8am and it was cold outside. The wind was still blowing and the temperature was around 45 degrees. We had some breakfast and I did a couple loads of laundry. Beth had to take pictures of all the wall hangings and art work. We had to go to Lowe's and get another door handle as the bedroom door needed a new one. We noticed the blinds had fallen down in the bedroom and the holders were broken. We needed to order new ones and install them next time we are down. We packed up what we could, so we will not have alot to do tomorrow. We had mac and cheese with leftover fried chicken for dinner. We will pack up in the morning and head to disney. Nice sunset tonight.

Bye Bye Shelly...

We woke to the middle of the night to loud thunder and rain. We were able to go back sleep and woke up around 7:30pm. It was still very cloudy out and very windy. We had breakfast and Shelly and I went down to the pool. We were only down there 5 minutes and came back up as it was too chilly. We sat around and watched TV and just had a good time relaxing. Shelly finished packing her stuff and I did a load of laundry. The sun came out around noon, but was still windy and chilly. We left around 4:30pm to take Shelly to the airport. We stopped at Wal-mart on the way home to get Beth some sinus stuff and got chicken for dinner. So tomorrow will be our last full day at the condo and we will leave for Disney on Monday. So long Shelly and have a safe trip home.

Nice day, but....

We were up and on the beach for our morning walk. We found some shells and the warm seemed warm. The sun was starting to break the clouds, so after a while of walking we decided to go swimming. It was starting to get warm and the sun was shinning bright. We stayed by the pool until 1pm. We came up and took showers and had lunch. Shelly went back out to sit on the deck and get some more sun. The guy came by to change out the dimmer switch in the dinning room. We then watched some TV until dinner came. It was a nice day, but rain is on the way and should be here over night and stay until tomorrow afternoon. Tomorrow is Shelly's last day and we are so sad. We are hoping to take a walk on the beach again tomorrow, but will have to see how the weather is.

Great day...

We got up around 8am this morning. We had some breakfast and all 3 of us headed to the beach. The water was a little warmer, but no way warm enough to swim. We then stopped by the pool for a swim. It is a heated pool and felt good to exercise my legs. We then came inside and took showers. Shelly and I went to do a little shopping and Beth made a phone call to the air conditioner people. We were back home a little after 1pm and had lunch. Shelly and I went to sit by the pool as the sun was shinning and it was warm. I think I got a little sun burn, but it was better than being home in the snow. We came back up stairs and the air conditioner people were just leaving and fixed the problem. It did not take long to cool down in here. We went out to a really great Mexican place, Nacho Mama, for dinner. Food was great and drinks were even better. We walked around and did a little shopping then came home. It was a great day and look forward to tomorrow.

Really....

Beth got up around 7am and I slept until 8:30am. It was cloudy outside, but was nice to be at the beach. We had breakfast and then Shelly and I walked down to the water. Beth went down to check on the electrical panel. The maintenance guy came up and 4 of the breakers had been tripped. So he reset them and we will see if the air comes down. I took a shower and we went to Wal-mart and to Lowe\'s. We had to fix one of the drawer rails and needed a replacement part. Beth is trying to get into the hall closet that is locked and no one has a key for. So a hammer and screw driver are going to be her best friend. We stopped at Wal-mart and picked up some mixed drink mixes. The sun was out and we were going to sit on the deck and have cocktails and enjoy the sun. On our way home we see all theses signs that say "Panther Traffic". Really, Panthers in Florida? We came home and had some lunch and went to sit on the deck. The sun went behind some clouds and could not find it\'s way out. So we came inside and Shelly and I took a nap. Beth played on her Ipad. What a great afternoon. We had great ribs for dinner.

Made it to the Condo...

We got up around 7am and had breakfast at the hotel. We were on the road by 8:15am. It was cloudy, but you could see the temperature rising. We ran into a few sprinkles, but again nothing to use the wipers for. It was a little tough for Beth to go through Orlando and not stop to see Mickey. But we will be back in a week to spend the week there, so she was a little happier. We made it to the condo around 2:45pm. We unpacked the car and got everything unpacked. We found the air is not working and will have to get it looked at tomorrow. We opened the windows and there was a nice breeze. The temperature outside was around 80 degrees. We went to the grocery store and picked up a few items. We had dinner and rested for awhile. We left around 7:30pm to go to Wal-mart and then to go pick up Shelly. Her flight was on time and we are back home now. Time to hit the beach tomorrow.

In Florida ...

We were up and on the road by 6:05am. We really only hit a couple of slow downs for traffic and a car fire. I think we stopped at every welcome center in each state. We ran into a couple of sprinkles, but nothing that could be even considered rain. We stopped around 7pm for dinner and found a hotel just south of Jacksonville. So we will get a good night\'s sleep and leave in the morning for Marco Island.

Superbowl Sunday...

Beth was up and at church by 8am. I got up before she left, took a shower, and headed to the store. I was back by the time she got home and we had breakfast. We took Buster over to see DJ and Maggie's house around noon. We then had lunch and took a little nap. We finished loading the car and cleaning. The party was great and the Giant's winning was even better. We should be on the road by 6am tomorrow and on our way to vacation land.

Movie - The Grey

Beth was up before me this morning. I felt no reason to get out of bed before 8:30am. We had breakfast and I took a shower. Kim and Jojo came over , so Kim could take a shower. Her bathroom is being remodeled and they don't have a working shower. Jojo had hockey, so they left after Kim's shower. Beth took her shower and I headed out. I went to Bed Bath and beyond to get coffee and to Target for more allergy meds. I then went and picked up Kyle as we were going to see the movie, The Grey. Kyle and I both agreed we were glad we saw it, but don't have to see it again. I dropped him off and came home. Beth was downstairs cleaning for the party tomorrow. I fixed dinner and packed some more.

Happy Birthday Kyle...

We got up around 8:15am this morning. We had breakfast and took showers. I then started the laundry. We wanted to get all the clothes packed today for the trip. We were able to load the suitcases in the car. We then headed over to DJ and Maggie's house. DJ wanted to do something different for Kyle's birthday present, so we came up with clues that lead him on a maze thought the house to find his present. So we set up most of the clues before he got home from school. We then had to go to the pack-n-ship place and sent our straight edge knives back to be sharpened. We then went to the party store to get balloons. We came home and had a couple hours to spare. We left around 5pm to go over to DJ and Maggie's house again. We waited until DJ and Kyle left and set up the rest of the clues. We went to dinner at Apple bee's with 9 other people. We then went back to their house. Kyle opened his presents then searched for his clues for his big present. He was not all that excited about searching for it, but had fun. We had cake and ice cream and then came home. It was a great day and Happy Birthday Kyle.

Beth was cleared...

We got up at 6:45am this morning. We took showers and and on the road by 7:45am. We made really good time and was at the hospital by 8:50am. We went ahead and went in since Beth's appointment was 9:30am figuring we would have to wait. But they got her right in to see the cardio guy. I waiting in the waiting room, while she had several test done and got the OK to have both knees done at the same time. We then went to pre-admissions. Again I waited while they took blood, x-rays, and more questions. We were finally out of there by 11:15am. We headed back to KOP and had lunch at Cheesecake factory. We had enough left over to have again for dinner. We stopped by BJ's wholesale club, then came home. We only had 45minutes to kill before seeing Dr. Bill. After that, we went over to Jeff's house so Beth could sign some papers. We then came home and took short naps. After dinner, I finished packing what I could and Beth got Buster's dog food ready to go. We are sending back our Cutco knives to be sharpened while we are gone and will take them to the post office tomorrow.

Buster to the vet...

We got up around 8am this morning and had breakfast. We took showers and then took Buster to the vet. He has been licking his front leg and appeared to have a hot stop starting. The vet said it could be the start of one or it could have been a little scrap and he licked it causing a hot spot to appear. The third option could be he is bored or nervous and licking because of that. The first 2 are easy to treat. He gave us some pills and some cream and he should be fine in a week or so. If it does not get better than we have to assume it is the third. We wondered if it had any thing to do with us doing a major cleaning that made him so nervous. He seems better this evening and not licking as much. We have to go to the hospital in the morning for the cardio visit and the pre registration. The cardio will determine if both knees are done or if only one can be done first.
