Up early...

Payton was up at 6:15 am this morning, which meant I was up at 6:15am. We watched a little TV and he had a bowl of dry cereal. Aunt Beth got out of bed about an hour later. We found out the Rylee was better and going to school. We had breakfast and showers. Payton and I went to the book store and to Target. Aunt Beth was working on bills. We had lunch and Payton took a nap. I tried but could not fall asleep. He slept for a little over an hour and was up and ready to go. All three of us headed to the bank and then got some water ice. We came home and Beth and Payton got in the pool. I had to leave around 5pm to go drop Kyle off at the doctors for his appointment. I came home and fixed chicken, butter noodles, and carrots for dinner. Payton had a bath and I read him a book before he went to bed. I sure hope he sleeps later tomorrow.

Happy Memorial Day...

I got up around 8am this morning and took a shower. I woke Beth up when I left to go see Kyle march in the Pottstown parade. Boy was it hot already and going to get hotter. I was back home around 11am and Beth was just finishing the vacuuming of the house. I had to go get ice for the cooler and picked up lunch. Dawn called to say they could not make it as Rylee was sick. We may need to watch her tomorrow is she is not better. Kim, Lynne, and Jojo arrived a little after 2pm. We watched a little of the Phillies game and then went down to the pool. Maggie and Payton arrived a little after 4 and DJ and Kyle were here around 4:30. The pool I hear was pretty warm and the kids have fun swimming. Aunt Beth is not happy that Payton wants to leave the steps and play with the big kids, so we will work on that adventure a little this week. I started the grill around 4:30pm and we were eating by 5:15pm. It was nice to get our first party of the summer underway. Everyone was gone around 7:30pm and Payton, with Buster, was in Bed by 8:30pm. He will be staying the next 3 night with us as he is on vacation from his family. We are off to bed as we may have to be up at 7am is we need to watch Rylee. It was a get day and come on Diamondback. We need you to beat the fish.

Last minute details...

We got up around 8:30am this morning and headed outside. I had to clean off all the tables and chairs and clean out the grill. Beth worked on the pool again. It is a little better each day, but still not clear. We did a lot of cleaning on it today and will see what tomorrow brings. It is OK to swim in, just not crystal clear. We then took showers and headed to Lowe's and stopped at WaWa for lunch. We watched only part of the Phillies game as they got spanked today, but still won the series. We only have a few things to do outside tomorrow, so we will be ready for the party. Now we have to get the house in some kind of order. Kyle is marching in the Pottstown parade at 10am tomorrow, so I need to go down and see him, then hurry and get ice for the cooler. But we know it will all work out and get done.

Pool area is almost ready...

We were up and outside by 10am this morning. Beth was working on the pool and I was busy planting the last of the flowers and loading the pool stuff in the back of the truck. DJ dropped Kyle off around 11am and stayed for a visit. We had her bring up the baby air conditioner for our bedroom. It is just to hot in there for me to sleep at night. So we will use it as a boost for sleeping and turn it off during the day. Kyle began mowing the lawn and I backed the truck down to the pool area. I unloaded most of the stuff, but Kyle helped after her was done with the grass. We then moved the big grill from the back deck to the pool area and set up all the umbrellas. We will have to rearrange once the slide is installed, but the set up will work for the Monday party. We did a few more things and called it a day as it was really hot and sunny out. Kyle took a shower and Beth and I put some of the tools away and then took showers. We went out to dinner and took Kyle with us. Then we stopped at Lowe's as Kyle needed spray paint and Beth needed some PVC things for the pool. We dropped Kyle off and went to the store to stock up on coke. We then came home and put the air conditioner in the window and are ready for bed.

Caddy is fixed...

We were up around 8:30 am this morning. Beth called on the caddy and it was all fixed and ready to go. It was some problem with the throttle or something, but it was covered under the warranty and we were glad. Beth pulled the filters out of the pool and had them soaking in come cleaner. We then had breakfast and showers and headed north. We stopped by her parent's house and installed the new furnace filter. It was not bad in the house, so we did not turn on the air. We then went to BJ's and picked up things we needed for the party on Monday and had lunch. We both had lunch for less that $4 bucks. We then picked up the car and came home. We unloaded the car and Beth worked on the pool filters. We are hoping that it will be clear tomorrow or she will make another trip to the pool place. Kyle is coming over tomorrow to cut grass and help me get the rest of the summer stuff out of the shed. That way the snow blower can go back to it's summer home and get out of the yard. I chopped up our first watermelon of the season tonight. It was so sweet and juicy. It will last about 3 days and will be gone and ready for another one. I have to watch how much I eat so close to bed as I will be in the bathroom all night peeing.

Air is on...

We woke up around 8:30am this morning and it was already hot. So it was time to turn the air on. I opened all the vents in the house, shut all the windows, and turned the air on. It did not take long to cool the house. Beth left around 9:45am to go meet her brothers. I took a shower and put the dishes in the dishwasher. Beth came home and we had lunch. We left around 1;30pm and went to the mall. Beth had a eye exam and wanted to get new glasses. I shopped the mall while i waited for her. We left there and went to the nursery for our last load of flowers. We then headed home as we were suppose to take Kyle to the doctor for he appointment, but found out he needed to change it. So we came home and got a water sample of the pool. It is still cloudy and wanted to see how to fix it. The guy ran the test and gave us the results. Unfortunately her ran it for the spa and not the pool. So we got six bags of shock and a couple of other things and we will see how it looks tomorrow.

Scary time in KC...

We were up around 8am this morning. I fixed breakfast and took a shower. Beth went out side to work on the pool. I then headed to the grocery store. The had a lot of things on sale and bonus points for some things. The temperature was already starting to rise, but we held off on turning the air on. The night have been good to sleep by so no need yet, but it is a coming. I watched the news very closely for about a couple of hours. There were tornadoes all over KC and it effect a lot of friends and family. I was able to get a hold of most people and they were all safe which was a good thing. Beth came in around 1:30pm for some lunch, then went back out to mow the front yard. I had to water all plants as we did not get enough rain. They are really starting to get big and looking good. After we watched the last Oprah show and Beth took a shower, we headed to Lowe's. We needed salt for the water softener, a big trash can so the pool filters can soak, some tomato stakes, and few other thing. We then headed home and I fixed usual Wednesday meal of steak and salad. it is POGO and ghost hunters Wednesday and steak is just part of the day.

Phillies Lose...

We were up around 8 am this morning and had showers and breakfast. We left around 9:30 to take the caddy back in to the shop. It is still having the problem of cutting out and we wanted to get it looked at. So off we went and only had to turn if off once which I was surprised at. We made to the dealership and I guess it is called the limp home mode. It there is something wrong with the car, it goes into this mode so you can make it home with calling a tow truck. Go to know, but fix it so it never happens again. We came home and Beth made several calls to schedule appointment for various things. We left around 4pm for Philly for the ball game. We stopped and got a pizza to take down to eat. It is some much cheaper than eating there. We saw a pretty good game by lost it due to errors by our right fielder, but at least we got our bobble heads. We might have to turn the air on tonight as it is still 78 degrees at 11pm and going to be a hot one tomorrow.

Pool is getting better..

We were up early this morning as we had much needed appointment with Dr. Bill. After the we stopped by Dunk in Donuts for breakfast and headed home. We did not get much rain last night, so I had to water the plants. I had a hair appointment at 12:30pm and had to take Beth's car. Maggie needed to barrow my truck as her car is in the shop. Beth spent most of the day trying to get a parking ticket out of her name. Her niece got the ticket, but it was sent to our house. So now she had to prove she does not own that car. Her niece has the same name, but we are not sure how the ticket came to our house. So how do you prove you don't owe the car? well you have to spend $5 buck to get a form and have it filled out or they could just pay the ticket and it would be done. What a pain in the butt this is going to be. So we had dinner and Beth cleaned out the pool filters again. The pool is getting better and is not pond scum green but a nice shade of aquamarine green. So maybe in a week or so it will be clear. We are looking at 90 degree temperatures this week, so it is time to get the cover off the air conditioner and open the vents in the house.

Productive Day...

I got up around 9am this morning and Beth was already up. We had breakfast and she took a shower and headed to church. I put on work clothes and went outside. I had a long list of stuff I wanted to get done and was hoping it would get done. I finished planting all the plants in pots or in the ground. I moved the big tubs from the shed to the deck and finished planting the tomato plants. I have 4 dupes left over and hopefully I can find homes for them. Beth picked up Kyle on her way home. He mowed the back yard twice and did the weed whacking. He was a very big help today and loves getting paid. Beth was able to get the front yard mowed again and everything in the length it should be. I edged the sidewalk and the area around the blood grass. I trimmed the tree by the garage door, so it no longer attacks you as you walk by it. We took Kyle home around 5pm and then went to Lowe's. After Lowe's, we came home and I fixed dinner and Beth worked on the thistles in the back area. We both are sore and stiff and will be glad to see Dr. Bill in the morning.

Pots are planted...

We were up at 7am this morning and picked up Jojo by 8am. We to the diner for breakfast and then to Lowe's. Jojo needed a set of gloves to help plants flowers. We came home and Beth and Jojo began planting the flowers in the pots. Jojo was good until the last pot and was ready to go inside. She stayed outside and her and Aunt Beth played with the chalk on the pool deck. I was able to finish planting the rest of the flowers we had and then we all went inside. Lynne came by around 12;!5 to pickup Jojo and take her to her ice skating lesson. Beth and I had lunch and Beth went of to her brother Jeff's house to help him with his pool. He is new to the whole pool thing and needed some help. When she returned home, she began sweeping and vacuuming the pool. After that, she cleaned the filters. The pool is looking a lot better and I hope it continues. We then went to Dawn and Jo's house for dinner and to visit. We always have a great time and time goes by so fast. Kyle is going to come over tomorrow and cut the back yard and Beth will cut the front yard again. It is a never ending cycle...

Time for Flower planting...

We got up around 8:30am this morning. DJ and Payton came by for a visit around 10am and stayed for about an hour or so. Beth and I went to the nursery to get flowers for the pots out back. Beth is into purple flowers this year so that is the feature color. We got home just in time for another down pour. The sky could make up its mind today as to rain or shine, so both were in abundance. We were going to Reading to try their Mongolian barbecue, but found it was just like the one here so we did not go. We went to Olive Garden instead. We stopped by Target and Radio Shack on the way home. Beth was able to sweep the sides of the pool and will work on it again tomorrow. We are picking Jojo up at 8am in the morning as Kim and Lynne have things to do. If it is nice our, we will be planting flowers in the pots.

Thursday, May 19, 2011

Pool Open...

Beth was up at 8am this morning and I got up at 9am. Beth had a dentist appointment at 9:40 and I went to Lowe's to get potting dirt. My goal today was to plant the tomato plants. Beth was back home around 11am. Gayle came by to use our garage. She needed a dry place to change some wheel bearing on her truck. The pool fairies came by around 11:15am. The cut the poles out where the diving broad way, pulled of the winter tarp on the pool, and hooked up the heater. The pool was a nice shade of mucky green. We were a little late in opening the pool this year, so we will see how long it takes to clear up. I got 10 tomato plants planted and still have about 6 more to go. I was able to get the other plants planted in the front bed. So tomorrow, we will go and get the plants for the pots and will be done planting, MAYBE. Beth started cutting the front yard. The rain clouds were moving in and she was hoping to get it done before it rained again. She was just about to clean the mover when the first drops started. By the time she put the mower away, rain was coming down hard. Good timing. we had leftover chicken from Stroud's tonight and it was good. We are done to our last few remains of KC food and will be sad when it is gone.

Made it Home...

We left Teresa's at 5:30am yesterday and stopped at Lamar's for donuts to bring home. We were just outside Indy when the first rain drops fell and continued to fall all the way home. Sometimes it was heavy and others only a mist. We were feeling really good by the time we hit the PA border that we just pushed on and were home by 11:45pm. We did not stop for any real sit down eating, just the grab and go type which helped us get home faster. We slept until 9:30am this morning. We finished unloading the car and Beth put her wine away and I put the other stuff we brought home away. We head the new Hibachi Grill was open and went to try it for lunch. It was a big disappointment and we will not be eating there again. We kinda got spoiled on the food places last week in KC and hoping this place would be good, but it was not. So we came home still hungry. We picked up Kyle around 5:15pm and dropped him off at school. He is practicing for the marching band thing they are doing memorial day. We had left over Author Bryant for dinner and it was just as good. We will have the left over chicken tomorrow night for dinner. Beth was able to get all the leave dropping off the pool cover before the pools fairies come to over the pool tomorrow. We found out the slide we ordered is 6 - 8 weeks behind so it will be awhile before it gets here. We were a little bit tired from the drive yesterday, but a couple night of sleep will fix that. We had a great time in KC visiting with everyone and want to give a big thanks to Teresa for letting us stay with her. We will miss Gypsy as she is a great dog and loves us.

Finally day in KC...

We got up around 8am. We took showers and came downstairs. We left around 10am to go to Heartland Nursery. We had a great time there. I had to limit the number of plants I selected as we had little room in the car. I was able to get about 12 tomato plants of different kinds that I can not get in PA. I also got 4 other plants to plant in the flower bed by the flag pole. I could have spent a whole lot more time if only we had a bigger car. We left there and picked up Teresa's mom and took her to Joann fabric store and they dropped her back off at home. We then went to the mall to get popcorn at Topsy's. We then had lunch and came home only to find we had a new warning light on the car dash. It was an outside light malfunction and of course it had to be the right head light. What next ???? Lucky for us it was an easy thing to replace and we went to Auto Zone to get a new bulb. We then headed back to downtown to get some dry ice for the cooler so all our meat will stay nice and cold. Beth was able to replace both headlights and we are ready to go. We have to go to dinner and see Shelly then pack the car. We hope to leave Teresa's house around 5:30am and stop and get Lamar donuts on the way out of town. We will see how we feel when we hit the PA border as whether to get a room or head home since it is only 5 more hours to our own bed. We have had a great time and want to thank all our friends and family for their time we spent together.

Great Day...

I got up around 8am and let gypsy out to potty. Beth slept until 9:45am. We got ready and headed out the door. We first went to Achiever's. It was my turn to shop for scrap booking stuff. We were there for an hour and made their sales for the week. We then headed to Stroud's for lunch. They have the best fried chicken around. We even had enough to bring some home. We then came home and Beth watched the Phillies lose to the Braves. We then put together the baby crib for Teresa as her niece is having a baby girl. We then had to decide what to have for dinner. We decided to go to Ci Ci pizza, but the only one I knew of was no longer there. So we then decided on In A Tub. we stopped at Aurthur Bryant's and got some more meat to take home. We found that In A Tub was closed on Sunday. So we came home and ate bar-b-que and it was so good. Teresa came home a day early and brought us t-shirts home from her nephew's school. Gypsy was so glad to see her and was glad she was home. We have one more day in Kansas City and will head home Tuesday morning. We are going plant shopping tomorrow and get Topsy popcorn. I also need to find some dry ice for the trip home with all our food.

Dinner with Family...

Boy did the weather turn cold. It was 45 degrees when we got up. I took Beth to the Waffle House this morning for breakfast. I had hash browns with gravy on then and 1/4 of Beth's waffle. Beth had eggs, hash browns, bacon, and 3/4 of a waffle. It was really good on a cold morning. We then went to Kohl's to get long sleeves shirts. We then came home and Beth took a nap. We then left around 3pm to go to Planter's to get spices and plants. Then we meet my aunt Omi and Uncle Al and their kid and grand kids for dinner. It was great to see everyone and had a great meal. The time went by so fast that I did not get a chance to talk to everyone. We then headed home with full bellies and still very cold outside.

Friday, May 13, 2011

Manny's...

We got up around 7:30am. Teresa had already left on here trip. We got dressed and went to Lamar's for giant donuts. We took them over to Shelly's house to eat. After finishing our donuts, we headed to Crown center for some shopping. We then went to Manny's for lunch. Beth and Shelly had a pitcher of margaritas. I love their chips and salsa. All of their is good and I had tamale and a taco, Beth had 2 soft tacos, and Shelly had a burrito. We dropped Shelly off at her house and came home. Beth and Gypsy played outside and I did laundry. We went to Author Bryant's for dinner and my god was it good. We have leftovers to bring home to PA. The weather turned cold today and rainy. So we are off to bed as we are going to Planter's tomorrow and having dinner with family.

Dinner with friends..

We got up at 6:30am and had the car at the dealership by 8:30am. After spending 4 hours there, they replaces the flapper motor and we had to get 4 new tires. So we left there and went to Genghis Khan for lunch. It is one of my favorite places to eat. We left there and came back to the house. We went over the items we needed to take care of while Teresa is gone. We then left and headed over to Jennifer's house for dinner. She had some friends over, actually I ask to to have them over since I hear about them in her blog all the time, and fixed burger and and hot dogs. It was great food and she even had a birthday cake for me and another friend of hers as our birthdays are on the same day. We were back home around 9:30pm and ready for bed.

A day of visiting...

We got up around 8am this morning. We visited with Teresa until 10am. We then left and did a little shopping before meeting Shelly at In A Tub for tacos. They make the best tacos anywhere. We left there and we went to the cemetery to visit my dad and brother's grave site. We then went to Hobby Lobby and I did a little scrapbook shopping. We then headed out to my cousin's house. We spent about 4 hours talking and having dinner. It was a great time and I miss her so. We then went to Riverside Red X. They carry a large selection of wine, beer, and liquor. Beth had a great time and carried out 3 cases of wine. Let's just say I will be having a great time scrapbook shopping. We have an appointment at 8:40am to get the car looked at. Let's hope everything is ok.

Tuesday, May 10, 2011

We are here...

We left St. Louis around 9am and it started to rain. We ran out of it about an hour down the road. We stopped in Columbia for some breakfast and then made it to Teresa's house around 1pm. We unloaded the car and then visited with Teresa until 4:30pm. We then went to dinner at Smokehouse and then over to visit with Shelly for a while. We were able to make appointment for the car to get looked out. After hitting a big pothole the check engine light came on. They guy told us that if it was a steady on then it was nothing to worry about until we could get it looked at. We noticed that after seeing Shelly the light was gone. Go figure. I think that the pothole messed up a sensor, but we will get it looked at anyway just to be sure. We are going to Red X tomorrow before having lunch with Shelly. Red X is a discount liquor store where Beth her wine shopping.

Long day of travel...

We were on the road headed to KC by 8am this morning. We had great weather and made it to St. Louis around 10 pm. we found a hotel and are ready for bed. We will get a good night's sleep and head out after breakfast.

Sunday, May 8, 2011

Ready to go...

Beth was up and 7am and off to church by 8am. I got up and had my shower and was ready to go to breakfast by 9am. After breakfast, we went to the bank to get cash for the trip and then came home. Beth began working outside on the grass and I started on the last of the items on the to do list. DJ dropped Kyle off around 1pm, so he could cut the backyard. After he made the second pass around the fence, I put down the snake proof stuff. It is suppose to keep snakes out of your yard, but is only good for 2 week or the first heavy rain. So we will see if it works. The yard work was all done and we loaded up the boy and buster and took them home. Buster was so happy to see his girlfriend and will have a good time there. We went to dinner with Kim, Lynne, and Jojo and had a great time. We are now finishing up the last of the items on the to do list and we will be ready to go. We will load most of the car tonight and the remaining thing in the morning. We see Dr. Bill at 7:30am and then we are on our way. Here we come KC....

Saturday, May 7, 2011

Time is growing short...

We were up around 8:30am this morning. We had breakfast and showers. We then headed out to go to Tractor supply. I needed to get bird seed and we saw DJ and the boys there. We then went to Best Buy. I got a coupon for triple points on selected purchases and Beth wanted a Dyson, so after comparing them we settled on the purple ball one and it was on sale. We then came home and Beth changed into work clothes and I began laundry. We cleaned out the car and took it to the car wash , getting it ready for our trip to KC. I finished the laundry and we packed our clothes. Tomorrow will be a busy day trying to get everything done before we leave. We had a rain shower this afternoon , which ended any hope of cutting grass today. I told Beth the kitchen is closed tomorrow after lunch so there are no leftovers or dishes in the dishwasher. We will take buster over to DJ and Maggie's house after dinner.

Visits...

We were up around 8am this morning. We had breakfast and showers. Beth had to work on some stuff for the lawyer and after that we went to the pool place. We ordered a slide, pool cover and reel, and the installation of the pool heater. they might start on it before we get home. After that we stopped and got sandwiches to bring home. DJ and Payton came by for a visit. DJ got her motorcycle today, but was not able to ride it over since she had Payton. We then had dinner with Dawn, Jo, and Rylee. It was nice getting to visit with everyone today. Rylee gave us a godmother's card for mother's day. She is so sweet.

To Dos before KC...

We were up most of the night with Buster. He had to go out every 2 hours. He now has the runs for some reason. So we were up for good around 8am. I made waffles for breakfast. We miss you Dawn. Beth changed clothes and went to go get gas and start the weed whacking. I took a shower and cleaned out the cooler we are taking to KC and sacked up the magazines for the recycle. I fixed lunch and took it out for Beth to eat. There were a few dark clouds out, but they were not rain clouds. Beth was doing a little weed whacking then riding a little bit. The grass grows so fast right not it is hard to stay on top of it. I left to drop off the magazines and then to wash my yellow truck and make it blue again. Beth had finished cutting the front yard when I returned. She was done for the day and will do the rest tomorrow if we get no rain. I have my to do list of the things we need to do before we leave. It is not too long and should be no problem getting done before then. We had tacos for dinner in celebration of Cinco de Mayo. We have to go up to the pool place tomorrow and put in our order for the pool heater, solar cover, and slide. It should be a fun summer.

Wednesday, May 4, 2011

Buster to the vet...

I got up around 8am and Beth slept until 9:30am. It was a cold rainy kind of day. I made breakfast and we played on the computer until almost 11:30am. I took a shower and then Beth took hers. I watched the movie Country Strong. It was good but sad. We had dinner and It was not what I wanted. We then had to take Buster to the vet. He had a big lump on his back leg. The vet said it was just a fat tumor that has growing between his muscles. It was nothing to worry about as it does not really effect. Other than that we did nothing today. We did see a wild turkey in the back yard. First one I have seen on our property.

Tuesday, May 3, 2011

Night with the boys..

We were up around 8am this morning. Beth had to leave around 11am to go sign papers on her mom's car. The guy came to look at installing the propane tanks for the pool heater. Her gave us some info on the tank size and a quote for the installation. He was just leaving when the bug guy got here. He found a couple dead mice downstairs and traced that the bait was being eaten. He sprayed the outside of the house so hopefully it will kill the ant and flying ants the come is time of the year. Beth came home just as he was finishing up. We had lunch and went to go look at light. Lowe's and Home Depot did not have anything we really liked, so we will keep searching. Beth went to go her hair cut and then we went to go pick up Payton. Maggie and DJ had tickets to the Phillies game tonight and we watched the boys. We took them to dinner then to 5 below shopping. We were back at their house around 7pm. We got them all tucked into bed and had a great time with them.

Monday, May 2, 2011

Two can't be done yet...

We were up at 7am this morning. The electrician was here around 7:40am. Beth was done and dressed by the time her got here. She showed him what needed to be done and he was able to do 3 of the projects, but the other will have to wait. We wanted to add low level lighting instead of solar lights by the back sidewalk. It just does not get enough sun for solar lights. But since we don't have the light and they have to come back for the pool heater, we will do the lighting then. That means we will go shopping to see what we can agree on. So after he left, we headed to Dr. bill for a adjustment. I was first and then Beth went. Dr. Bill noticed I was still in pain, so I got a second adjustment that hit the spot. We left there and came home. I then left and went to Target and the grocery store. I also stopped by GNC to get some items. I came home and Beth's car was ready to be picked up. So we went to KFC for lunch. There was drama in KFC as some guy jumped out of his car at the intersection and yelled at some lady. She then followed him in to KFC and they yelled at one another until she and her husband finally left. DRAMA. I then dropped Beth off at the dealership and went to BJ's again. I forgot trash bags and fish oil pills when we were there last time. It was kinda strange not having to pick up Kyle and take him to class as I have for the last 3 months. Beth made dinner tonight and it was really good. We will have it for lunch tomorrow as we are watching the boys tomorrow night. DJ and Maggie have tickets to the Phillies game.

Sunday, May 1, 2011

Nice Day...

We did not get out of bed until 9am this morning. I made breakfast and we took showers. We had to take Beth's car to the dealership as it it getting a look over before we head to KC. We then went to BJ's wholesale club and had some lunch. We then came home and unloaded the truck and then went to Lowe's to get some potting soil. We came home and I had to finish planting the plants we got the other day. I made dinner of flat iron steak and corn on the cob. We have to get up early tomorrow as the electrician is coming at 8am and then we see Dr. Bill at 9am.
