First dip in the pool...

We were up and both of us were at the gym by 8:30 am. We stopped by Lowe's to get some stuff before going home for breakfast. We both then worked outside until lunch. Beth worked on the pool and I moved all the brick off the back deck. It was another hot on today and we both got in the pool before lunch. It was a little cold at first, but it felt really good. DJ came over for a visit and Beth had to go up to Dawn's house and take the tent we got for her. I fixed chicken and hotdogs on the grill and made the cold raspberry soup for dinner. Gayle and Angie came by for a visit and put their feet in the pool for awhile. Couple more days of hot weather, then back to the upper 70's for awhile.

A hot one...

I was up and at the gym by 8:30am and back home by 10 am. Beth was just getting ready to leave to go get her car serviced. I spread the mulch underneath the crape myrtle and gave the plants some water. It was already starting to get hot out. I then came inside and cleaned the bathroom and our room. I was able to get a few games of pogo in and purchase 2 circuit cartridges on eBay. Beth was home around lunchtime. We then left around 3pm to go to Target and then meet a women in the parking lot and we purchases and new tent for Rylee. Beth is into the Pottstown yard sale and it has really paid off for us in selling and buying. We came home and Dawn and Rylee came by for dinner. We had burgers, tots, and baked beans. Jo stopped by for a nice visit and then everyone left around 7:45pm. It was a hot one today and will be the same tomorrow. The pool is clearing up and might just be ready for swimming this week-end.

Rylee sitting...

We got up at 6 am this morning, took showers, and headed up the street to Dawn and Jo's house. Rylee was home again from school and we got to watch her today. Jo left for work and I had to go give blood. Afterwards, I stopped by the house to turn on the air. It was cool last night, but was going to be hot today. Rylee had just gotten up, so I headed back up the street. She was running a little temp, so Beth gave she some meds. Around 10:30am , she wanted to come to our house. She watched some videos on the computer and I folded laundry. She no temperature at noon, so she and Beth went to McDonald's for her lunch. Beth and I ate at home. She went down for a nap around 1;30pm and Beth went out to cut the yard. It got to 87 degrees today and will be hotter the next couple days. The pool is getting ready for swimming and I hope it will be ready this week-end.

Cold before the hot...

I got up around 7;30 am and was off to the gym. It was beginning to rain, which was not a good sign for Beth. She wanted to cut the grass, but was not going to get to today. I came home and we had breakfast and I started laundry. It was going the cold before the hot, so I wanted to get the laundry done before then. Beth had dentist appointment and left around 11 am. We had lunch when she got home and then went to Exton to the Barnes and Noble store and Toys-R-Us. It rained the whole day and only got to 67 degrees. Rylee was home sick today and running a fever, so we are babysitting tomorrow. Hopefully she is feeling better.

What a day...

I got up at 7:30 am and went to the gym. I went to the store and came home. We were just getting ready to go outside, when Jo called and asked if we could watch Rylee. Something had come up and they needed to leave. So we went up and watch Rylee until late evening. We came home and then took Gabby home as DJ was still at the race track. Kyle has some issues and took 7th place, but had to go to the hospital and is not on crutches. Payton did good and took 3 in his race.

Little warmer...

Beth was up and at church by 8 am. I got up and took a shower. When she got home, I made eggs and potatoes for breakfast and we read the paper. We then had to go get gas, get the pool water checked, and stop by her brother's house to get some stuff out of the safe. We had some lunch and Beth went to clean the pool. I made cucumber salad for dinner tomorrow and made hot wing chicken dip. We had pork chops for dinner and they were tasty. It was a little bit warmer today and will be until it hit 90 on Thursday. Did not buy anything on In The Kitchen with David, guess I as still waiting, but for what, I am not sure.

Very windy...

I got up around 6:45 am as gabby needed to go outside. I could not go back to sleep, so I played on the computer until Beth got up at 8:30 am. we had breakfast, took showers, and headed to Lowe's by 10 am. we were at Dawn and Jo's house installing the cabinets in the garage until 1pm. It was another very windy and cool day, but the sun was shinning. I fixed some marinated flat iron steak and put it on the grill and it was to die for. Used soy sauce, pineapple juice, and brown sugar. We then went to the store and were back home to watch the Phillies win. Beth had to remove a huge tree limb that fell in the yard and I sweep down the pool. The rest of the week will get increasingly warm and hit 90 by Thursday. Better than the low 50's we have been having.

Too cold...

It was a mess of thunderstorm and lighting most of the night. Beth was up at 6:30am as the electrical guy was going to be here between 7 and 7:30 am. I got up around 7:45 am and went to the gym. It was really cold out and the high was on 52 degrees. We had to go around and shut all the windows and the wind was still blowing. The guy finally left around 10:30 am and we now have 2 electrical plug and a working light. The new light post came today, but the light will not be here until Tuesday. We can install that our self. We left and went to Reading to get ribs for Monday. We then stopped and had Chipotle's  for lunch.  We got home around 2:30pm and Beth worked on her desk and I took a little nap on the sofa. Dawn called and asked if we could pick up Rylee and we said sure. They stopped by around 7:30 pm to pick her up. Tomorrow is not going to be any warmer, but I refuse to wear long pants again.

A LITTLE BREAK...

we got up around 8 am this morning. I went to the gym and Beth went outside to weed whack. The electrician came by, but had to leave on anther emergency, so he will be back in the morning. We did get the other trench dug out, so all the line can be buried. I took a shower and went to the store. The bug guy came around 2:30 pm and we are good for bug. Beth went to pick up Rylee while I made a new recipe for dinner, Cheese burger muffins.  They were really good and even Rylee loved them. Dawn's game was cancelled because of the rain , so she picked up Rylee around 7:30 pm. It is a lot cooler in the house than late night, but it will be another night with the air on in the bedroom. A cold front is coming in, so the high the next couple days will only be 62 degrees.

Another hot one...

We got up around 8 am this morning. It was kind of nice out, but the hot weather was on it's way. I started laundry and then made some phone calls. Beth made several calls also and then went out to cut grass. She was able to finish all the cutting and will weed whack tomorrow. The electrician will be here sometime tomorrow to hook up the electrical line in from. We ordered a new lamp post and it will be here in a week, so things are moving along. Now if the landscaper would get to work. It was really hot and humid today, but a rain is coming to help cool off a little. We had to put the air conditioner in the bedroom, in hope of getting some sleep tonight. Cold temps will happen this week-end, so turning on the whole house air is not worth it yet. We got rid of 2 of the 4 things posted on the Pottstown garage sale facebook ad and the other will go this week-end. We made enough to get the kids a water and sand station to put by the pool. They will love it.

cabinets...

It was a hot and humid night last night and I could not fall asleep, I got up around 8am and went to the gym. Dawn had called and Rylee was sick this morning, so she was home. Beth went up after her shower and I went up after I took mine. Beth had a dentist appointment and Dawn and I started putting cabinets together. Beth got lunch and Rylee went to take a nap. The big cabinet they got was a return and we could see why, so they took it back and 2 other cabinets. So we put everything together and got secured the 2 tall cabinets to the wall. we will do the other on Saturday. It was another hot and humid day and we expect the same tomorrow. Rylee was feeling better after her nap and will go to school tomorrow.

Lamp Posts...

I was up and at the gym by 8:30 am this morning. After my shower and breakfast, we went to BJ's for several things and were back home in time for lunch. I left around 12:45 pm to get my hair cut and colored. DJ and a friend of Beth stopped by. We had chicken and salad for dinner and they went to Lowe's. We are looking for a new lamp post and a ceiling fan for outside. We found a couple we like, but will continue looking. It was a humid day here and looks like it is going to be for a while.

Rylee staying the night...

Again, another morning of sleeping until 9:30am. We got up and had breakfast. It was then outside we went. Beth cut the back yard and I started digging the ditch for the electrical line. We wanted to place the electrical line in PVC pipe to protect it from roots. So I got about a 1/3 of it done when Beth came to help. We both worked on it and finished it around 1:30, then had some lunch. Beth started cutting the front yard and it looked like rain would happen anytime. I power washed the 8-1 play set so we could list it and sell it. I felt some drops of rain, but what did it matter as I was already wet. So I finished up and then took a shower. Beth finished up the yard and it looks nice. She came in a took her shower. We had burgers for dinner and then Dan, Jo, and Rylee came down around 7pm. I was spending the evening with Rylee, while they went to Sal's birthday party. Rylee to a bath and we read 2 books. She wanted Buster to sleep with her and he did not mind. So off to sleep she went. we will be making donuts for breakfast tomorrow.

Happy Birthday to me...

We again did not get up until after 9 am this morning. We had breakfast and I went to the bank. Beth cut the front and back yard once and will cut them again on Sunday. We went to Dawn and Jo's house for dinner and ice cream cake . We had a great time.

Pool open...

I was up and at the gym by 9:15 am this morning. DJ came by to get the rest of her stuff and visit awhile. It had rained this morning, so Beth could not cut the grass. We had some lunch and I went through all my T-shirts. I have way to many and the drawers will not close. So I got rid of around 20 or so and will get rid of them tomorrow. The pool guy came and opened the pool. It was a nice shade of slim green, but will look better in a week or two. They will be back on Monday to do the first sweep. We picked up Rylee around 5pm and we had Bar-B-Que chicken, rice and corn for dinner. Then her and I walked to her house and Beth met us there. We played on her new swing set and then came home around 8pm.

Wednesday, May 15, 2013

Finally home...

We got home around 1am this morning and were dragging all day. We had appointments to see Dr. Bill at 9am. After that, we had to go pick up the sofa and it really looks great. I will post some pictures on Facebook tomorrow. we had lunch around 1 pm and DJ stopped by after that. She chatted for a while and then left to go pick up Payton. I had four loads of laundry and did a load of sheets. we went out for dinner, then Beth blew al the whirly birds off the pool cover. They come tomorrow to open the pool, so summer will officially begin. Now it is time for a bed and it can't come soon enough. There are several things I learned while on vacation at my mom's : 1) 103 degrees is hot no matter where it is. 2) 2 ply toilet paper is the greatest thing ever made. 3) Lamar's makes the best donuts. 4) Spending the day with your mom is priceless.

Monday, May 13, 2013

Last day...

I was up around 6:45am this morning. Beth did not fall asleep until late, so I got dressed and went the gym with out her. I stopped by Lamar's on the way back and got donuts for Beth and Ken. I spent the rest of the day helping mom with her computer and showing her how to do certain things. we did go to the UPS store and shipped 3 boxes home. We had tacos for dinner and are not hoping the Diamondbacks beat the Braves. We will be leaving tomorrow and will miss being here, but all good thing must come to an ends, It was 103 degrees and we will not miss that weather,

Happy Mother's Day...

We got up around 7:30 am this morning and had breakfast. We left around 10:30 am for the ball park. We were able to find a close place to park and only waited in line about 20 minutes. We found out seat which were in the left outfield 3rd base side. Beth and I left and went over to see if we could get any autographs from the Phillies and we did not. we got something to eat and headed for out seats. The Diamondback just out to a 2 -0 lead in the first inning and it was nothing for the next 9 innings. We decided to go ahead and leave and the Phillies tied the game. We made it home to see the final inning and the Phillies won. So they split the series and mom and Beth were happy about that. We actually get to watch the Diamondback tomorrow night and root for them as they play the Braves. Our vacation has gone by fast and we only have one more full day left. So sad...

Family cookout...

I got up around 7am this morning and Beth slept until 9 am. I made a cucumber salad for dinner and mom made potato salad. Ken went to pick up Lee and Cindy around 10am and was back home by 11 am. I started the grill around 2:30pm and fixed brats and burgers. we had a very nice family meal and visited afterwards. Ken took lee and Cindy home and I took Beth to get ice cream. The Diamondback/Phillies game was on at 5:20 pm. I boxed up the Patchville bunnies we are going to ship home on Monday. I had to go get some bubble wrap to finish up, but they are ready for Monday. We are all headed to the ball game tomorrow and it should be a good time.

Nice Day...

We got up around 6:45 am and decided not to go to the gym today. We had breakfast and took showers. Beth and I headed to Hobby Lobby to see if they had anything different. They had a few things, so we got them and headed home. We had some lunch and then mom, Beth, and I went to the bank and then to the store. We spent the rest of the afternoon visiting and taking a little nap. We did a couple loads of laundry and then went to dinner at Texas Road house. Mom and Beth are now watching the ball game. It was a very nice day.

Lamar's donuts and the organ stop...

We were up and at the gym by 8:15am. We stopped by Lamar's and picked up donuts for breakfast. They are really not on my diet menu, but I could not pass them up. We took showers and then a little nap. After lunch, we went through all of mom's coins and will bring them back with us. We then got ready to go to the Organ Stop. The pizza was really good but the music on the organ was even better. We love eating there any time we visit. For the next 4 night, mom and Beth will be glued to the TV as the Phillies are playing the Diamondbacks. It will be interesting....

Great gym...

After a great night's sleep, we were up and out the door to the gym by 8:15 am. We got a little lost, but made it to the gym. It was a very nice gym with newer equipment. We had a great workout and then headed to Target to pick up a couple things. We passed a Lamar's donut shop on the way back and will spot there tomorrow. Those of you who have not had Lamar's donuts are missing out. We came home, took showers, and had breakfast. We then got information on the Jodi Arias trial which is a big deal here. We had some lunch around noon then went to a new wine store, We found they have the same store in Delaware and will be going to it when we get home. We then came home and rested the rest of the afternoon, We went to dinner around 5pm for Mexican and they had really good tamales. We are now watching In the Kitchen with David and ordering stuff from QVC.

Long Long day...

We went to bed last night, but neither one of us slept and, so around 2:45 am we got up. We showered and left for the airport. I flight was on time and we left around 6:20 am. We were able to sleep on the plane a little bit, but the 3 hour time change wore us out today. We made it to Phoenix a little early and Ken and mom meet us out front. We went to Denny's for our second breakfast of the day and it was only 9am. We came home and unloaded our suitcases. We spent the rest of the just sitting around with a couple of short naps. Mom, Beth and, I went to the store and we just missed it getting robbed. What excitement. Mom made a stuffed chicken pot pie and salad for dinner and it was really good. It is now 7 pm and I am so ready for bed. Tomorrow should be a better day and we should be more alert.

Ready to go....

We both were up around 7:30 am this morning. I went to the gym and Beth had her morning coffee before heading out to weed whack. I got home around 9:45am, had a quick breakfast and began the final house cleaning. I left around noon to go get some floor mop and some chicken for lunch. Beth was beginning to cut the back yard, but stopped and had lunch. She was about half way done with the front when I left to go get a hair cut. She finished up around 4pm and took a shower. She went to see Dr. Bill for a much needed adjustment and then we had dinner. DJ came by around 7pm and I think we are all ready to go. It will be a short night as we have to be up and ready to go to the airport by 3:45 am. But warmer weather, here we come.

More yard work....

After a good nights sleep, we were back at it again. After Beth got home from church, we had a quick lunch then went to get 2 bales of straw and get the grill tank filled. we cane home and I was able to spread the 2 bales on most of the front yard. I got it watered enough that the wind would not undo everything I did. Dawn, Jo, and Rylee came down for a visit and we had a great time. after they left, I cleaned the kitchen, cleaned out the fridge, and watered the flowers. Beth was able to suck up all the clumps of grass in the back yard, so she can do one final cut on the front and back before we leave. So tomorrow will be another busy day before we leave Tuesday morning.

Spring Trianing needed...

We got up around 8 am this morning. We had breakfast and headed outside. We started removing the one bush by the flagpole. I wanted to get the crape myrtle and the other flowers for that area planted before we left on vacation. So we tried to pull it out with a rope and the truck, but that did not work at all. So while I went to Lowe's for a chain, Beth and DJ dug around the bush to help loosened the roots. The lines at Lowe's were outrageous, but I got the chain. I came home and we hooked it up and with a little force, it popped free.  So we began digging the rest of the roots out and getting the hole ready for the crape myrtle. The guy with Beth's new lawn mover finally arrived and she was so happy. I took over removing the roots and she went get instructions on hooking up the snow blower and how to cut grass with the mover. She parked the mover in the shed and we went back to Lowe's for dirt and to look at sprinkles for the yard. The lines were not as bad this time and we were back home around 12:30pm. We had a quick lunch and back outside. I say they should be Spring Training for lawn and flower work outside. We got the tree planted and I worked on getting the flowers planted. Beth worked on the sprinkles out front. She then began cutting the front yard. She is still learning how to use the new mower, but it will not take longs. So all the flowers are planted, the bush was removed and the crape myrtle was planted, and the grass was cut. It was a very very busy day and I am glad it is over. I finished all the laundry and put it away. We are about 90% packed for our trip, but still have a lot to do before we leave.

Baby Grayson

We were up around 8 am this morning. We took showers, had breakfast, and were on the road by 9:30 am. We stopped and got gas and a bottle of water and headed to Hobby Lobby first. I found everything I was looking for and more. We then went to Red Robin for lunch and it was great. We then headed to the Four Season Greenery in NJ. They had the peppermint lace crape myrtle tree I was looking for. We then headed to Beth's  niece's house to see then newest member of the family. Grayson had just finished his bottle and was taking a much needed nap. He is a cute little thing and well loved. We finally headed home around 3pm, but being in NJ and rush hour traffic, we were home around 5:30pm. We had a great time on the road and seeing Grayson.

Big day outside...

We got up around 8 am this morning and had breakfast. We then went outside and began washing the gutters and the house. The gutters are a lot whiter and all the green mold on the house is gone. So it is all ready for landscaping when we return from vacation. The guys also finished the grass, so now we have to water the big patch of dirt in the yard until the grass grows. What a pain that will be. We picked up Rylee from school and we had cheeseburgers for dinner. Dawn and Jo walked down around 7;30pm to get Rylee and they all walked home. It was a nice day out and I am glad we got everything done.

Shopping...

I was up and at the gym by 8am this morning. Beth was up and out the door to take Jojo to school. After the gym, I came home and took a shower then left to go take DJ to her doctor's appointment. She will begin physical therapy and see him in 3 weeks. We then picked up Beth and went to get her new sun glasses, then took DJ home. It was then off to BJ's for some shopping and back home to upload. We then went to Kohl's and the AAA store. We finally made it back home around 4:30 pm. I fixed steak and salad for dinner and began a little house cleaning. Boy what a busy day it was.
