Weather center...

Beth was up at 7am this morning getting ready for her doctor's appointment. I was able to stay in bed until 8am. I got a weather center for my birthday and wanted to get it up and running today. There were 4 separate components to the whole process. Since they are all wireless they have to be set up first. After that, I had to install them. The first is the thermo-hygro sensor. It was easy to install it on the back of the shed and it measures the temperature and humidity. The next one is the wind sensor. It was going to take some time to get this up. It had to be mounted on a pole and then mounted on the shed. But the side of the shed is not even and there is at least a six inch gap. I had to think on this some more. Beth finally came home from her doctor's appointment and we went to Lowe's to see what I could find for the wind sensor project. No luck on that, still need more thinking. I had to leave to go to the hospital for the ultrasound. The test did not take long and I stopped by Home depot. After an hour of looking at things, I came up with something that just might work. So I headed home with my purchases and was eager to see if they would work. I had a quick bite of lunch and headed to the garage to assemble the items and they worked. So I was able to get the wind sensor up. Next it was on to the rain gauge. It had to be on a level spot in the middle of the yard. I wanted it to look nice, so I decided to go tomorrow and get a copper pipe to mount it on. Next I had to set up the weather center display station. It displays just about anything you would want to now about the weather. It is very exciting. Beth worked on the shrubs out front. She was able to get all of them done except the two in front of the window. They look nice. We had a late dinner and are watching the Phillies. we are hoping they hold one for the win. Today's picture is of a mature male common whitetail dragonfly. It was just flying around the backyard this evening looking for insects to eat.
