We woke up this morning around 8am. It was very icy out, everything was covered with ice. We made our way to the living room and were talking about breakfast when the power went out. It was not really a surprise with all the ice on the lines. So we got dressed and Beth made a call to PECO to report the outage. They said we should have power by noon. So Beth had pop tarts and I had a sandwich for breakfast. With no TV to watch or computer to play on, we did some of the things that we have been putting off. By noon we still did not have power, so we called again for a status update. It said we should have power by noon. So we went outside and scraped the ice off the back sidewalk. It was pretty easy to do as the temperature was 37 degrees and things were melting. We came in around 1:30pm and had sandwiches for lunch. Beth made another call and they now say we will not have service until 8am Thursday morning. So we decided to wait it out. We put candles out so when night time hit we would have light. We filled the bath tub with snow so we could have water to flush the toilets with. As we were bringing in the last bucket of snow the light came back on. We were go glad they were wrong about the time. I fixed steak for dinner on the grill since we planed on grilling anyway. So now the house is warm and we have power and are ready for a good night's sleep. Today's pictures are of our poor weeping cheery tree covered in ice and the trees that broke off because of too much ice on them.
